December 2014 Beauty Box Comparison - Ipsy vs. Topbox vs. Birchbox vs. Beauty Box 5

This is the first month I get to compare 4 inexpensive Beauty Bag/Boxes as Birchbox has started shipping to Canada!!!

Here is my chart breakdown comparing Ipsy, Topbox, BirchBox and Beauty Box 5:

Ipsy

Ipsy was good this month - there was a good value and good variety. I also liked this month's little black makeup bag. Three of the five products are full size! the cleanser and mascara are awesome and the eyeshadow, lip balm and brush are all products I will use. This wasn't the most exciting bag but I am happy with everything!

Beauty Box 5

December's Beauty Box 5 was a decent box (I can say it was a huge improvement over November's box!). Three of the five products are full size. I love the Juice Beauty moisturizer and the hand cream - they are both awesome! The nail polish and nail polish removers are good - I will use both of them. The only thing I did not like this month was the perfume, only because the scent was just not for me!

TopBox

The value of this month's Topbox was great - however it was just not my favorite month. I liked that three of the four products are full sized. I like the purple nail polish and will use the black eye shadow sporadically - but I do still think a full size black eyeshadow is a little weird! The lipstick was a bit too dark for my liking and the toner sample was itty-bitty! Overall, just not my favorite mix of products, nothing terrible but nothing great either!

Birchbox    

I was very excited to receive my first Birchbox - I really liked all of the products; however, I know it is a sample subscription but I thought maybe one product would be full size (the  eyeliner is close)! The value was the lowest of all four boxes - but there was a good mix of products and I really like the highlighter, scrub and eyeliner. The hair mask and body wash are both good and will get used also!

I have to say out of the 4 inexpensive sample beauty subscription boxes that ship to Canada, my favorite for the month of December would be Birchbox. The value of the box was not as high as the others and not one was full size - but the sample sizes were very generous and I was very happy with all of the products in the box!
