So last week my radio show came to an end. It was only meant to be for a few months and I had been dreading the end. I started with Fly Fm back in October when I started my MA. However, while I didn't last at the MA side of things, I did keep going with the show.
I got into a nice little routine with it. In fact tomorow is my first thursday off in months!
The mark of any good radio show - the feast! I always stock up on goodies before I get to the station. The reason for this being that it is exhausting being so chirpy that early for two hours. I find sugar and coffee helps to keep me from killing people. I think I might have overdone it with the six cans of diet coke though!
Nothing is that hard!
The station was so hot that morning! I ended up doing the show in a bikini!
I really will miss Fly. I learned an awful lot while I was doing it. I have worked in radio for years - as you will know from the blog - but this was different. This was the first time it was just me.
I've always worked with experienced presenters who have lead the way and chosen the topics. This time it was all down to me and at first it was terrifying! Towards the end of the year I was choosing tracks, topics, talking and generally dancing around the studio as if it was no problem!
I did have my problems though. I had speakers blow up, microphones die mid show, songs containing swear words, phone text noises and the best one - when I accidently called Nicky Minaj the C word! Oh dear! Mind you, this is the best part of radio like this - the learning process!
Goodbye Fly and Goodbye Trent.
It's been fun.
